| Dr. Anna Marie Harkins
is a third generation Fort Worth Texan and a third generation female
to graduate from Texas Christian University (TCU). Her first career
was in Physical Chemistry. She earned a masters degree and PhD from
Duke University in Physical Chemistry. She did postdoctoral research
at M.I.T., Texas Woman's University, Southwestern Medical School,
and the University of California at San Francisco.
Dr. Harkins then spent five years as a Systems Engineer with Ross
Perot's EDS. She then received her medical degree from North Texas
University - TCOM in Fort Worth Texas.
After a rotating internship in Dallas, she did an Internal Medicine
residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City followed
by a fellowship in Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine at the
Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Prior to joining Southeast Houston Cardiology, Dr. Harkins practiced
Cardiology in Phoenix, AZ. for two years and subsequently ran her
own office in Pasadena, Texas from 1989 until 2000. She consults with
patients in the Pasadena Office and rounds on hospitalized patients at
Bayshore Medical Center and Southeast Memorial Hospital.
